Follow the current Directive
The Underground Exchange Directive shows what to leave and what to receive. It separates permanent exchanges from promotional ones. Each listed exchange is once per night; promotional offers reset on Monday.
| Example from a Demo Directive | Requested goods | Return |
|---|---|---|
| Permanent exchange | 2 Ammunition | Food |
| Permanent exchange | 2 vials of Dream Dust | Random Legal Goods |
Use your own current sheet for quantities and promotions. An old promotional medicine recipe is not a standing offer every week.
Submission and collection checklist
The usual exchange sequence is:
- Check that the exchange and the relevant services have been introduced in your run.
- Read the current Directive and prepare one recipe with the exact goods and quantity.
- Put the requested goods in the shop’s trash bin.
- Pay for that night’s Janitorial Service.
- Go through the night, then inspect the bin and collect the return the next morning.
Run-specific unlocks and service status still matter. Collect returns promptly rather than leaving them for the next cleaning night.
If the bin is empty
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The current promotion | Promotions change on Monday |
| Exact goods and amounts | More goods do not automatically mean repeated copies of the same exchange |
| Tonight’s cleaning service | Leaving goods alone is not the whole sequence |
| Starting scenario and introductions | Sawyer’s Crew and older saves have had different introduction behaviour |
| Morning pickup | Returns left behind may be cleared on a later night |
Avoid using Day 25 as a universal unlock rule for every starting scenario. Updates have changed service introductions, including Sawyer’s Crew behaviour, and an older save can behave differently from a new run.
Do not look for an original-game Ready, Banned or PickUp preview slip simply because it appears in someone else’s setup. Those preview displays can come from the ExchangePreview mod.
