Get access to fishkeeping
The October 19 Demo update adds Retired Aquafarmer to Wild’s Network. The retired merchant supplies fishkeeping equipment, including a basic circulation system, tilapia and fish food.
The fishkeeping loop
- Obtain the equipment, fish and food from the aquafarmer.
- Maintain the water conditions and filtration.
- Keep the system powered and provide the environment the species needs.
- Watch for eggs, fertilisation and fry as suitable breeding conditions are met.
- Let the fry grow into fish before deciding whether to keep or harvest them.
Tilapia roe and breeding
Eggs are one part of the breeding cycle, not a guarantee of a fixed number of new fish every day. Keep the environment, feeding, water and energy in view rather than planning around a universal daily spawning percentage.
Harvesting
Use a knife to obtain fish meat. For sturgeon, Surgery Tools can be used to obtain caviar.
Why a menu may look different
The Aquafarmer announcement’s animation uses the new 1.0 interface. A Demo run can have a different window layout, even when the same fishkeeping systems are available.
