Make the fridge work
- Double-click the Fridge to open its window.
- Check that Power Source contains a cell with enough charge for the displayed requirement.
- Place an appropriate drink in Chill Zone.
- Leave it there overnight.
- Inspect the item and the sale quote for its Chilled modifier.
Putting an object inside is not enough: the fridge needs both a suitable item and power for the night.
Why a water bottle does not chill
The Demo’s item tooltip excludes wine and unsealed water. A bottle that you fill yourself should not be used as the test of whether the fridge is working. Its water grade is a separate issue from whether the item is eligible for chilling.
The price modifier
The Demo example for Puice shows Chilled (+20%) in the sale quote. This is a price modifier, not a promise of 20% net profit after buying the drink and powering the machine. Other bonuses and trading conditions can affect the final quote.
Storage upgrades change the power bill
| Demo configuration | Required energy |
|---|---|
| Storage 0/7, Efficiency 0/7 | 2 per day |
| Storage 3/7, Efficiency 0/7 | 11 per day |
The storage upgrade uses Scrap Metal. The efficiency upgrade uses Common Electronic Parts. Recheck the displayed requirement after upgrading: a cell sized for the original 2-per-day setup may not last in the expanded fridge.
The window also has a Freeze Zone. Do not assume that every item accepted into storage will receive a frozen or chilled label; begin with the item’s own eligibility and the fridge’s tooltip.
